Beautiful Motorola Deco Antique Radio 1941
MOTOROLA DECO BEAUTY -- 1941 50X1 -- GREAT CONDITION RESTORED CHASSIS IN A CRACK AND CHIP-FREE CASE

The Motorola 50X1 is a strong performing 5 tube broadcast band radio. Its stylish Deco cabinet features the uncommon "D"dial shape. The radio's sleek case is almost devoid of any non-functional ornamentation. The major features are the dial opening itself, and the horizontal fins over the speaker opening. The mottled Bakelite case is in near perfect condition with no cracks or chips. The knobs, dial pointer, and dial scale are in excellent condition.

The chassis received a full restoration to ensure long-term operation. It was dusted and cleaned, and is free of corrosion. ALL wax/paper and electrolytic filter capacitors were replaced, even if they were still functional. The speaker cone is intact, with no tears or holes. The internal loop antenna is also intact and fully functional. After testing, four of the tubes were replaced with new (old stock) components; the remaining tube tested as well as a new item on both performance and "life" measures. Resistors were checked and all were found to be within specification, so the original 1930s "dog bone" style were retained. All controls were cleaned and lubricated to operate smoothly. After a full alignment, the radio performed very well and volume and clarity were also excellent.
